Description

A substantial folio chronicle of Scotland’s history, extending from the year of the world 3619 to the year of Christ 1726, compiled and arranged by David Scott. With armorial frontispiece and a detailed folding map of Scotland. Bound in contemporary speckled calf boards, later re-backed in matching calf with raised bands and gilt-lettered morocco spine label.

Condition report

Light surface scuffing and rubbing to the boards but remains strong and attractive. Internally, the text is well-preserved; the paper with some natural waviness as often seen in books of this period. Spotting occurs intermittently but is generally light and unobtrusive. A small tear is present to the lower corner of p. 295, not affecting the text. The folding map of Scotland is present and in good order. Overall, a very good and appealing example of Scott’s folio history.
