Master Humphrey’s Clock is a compilation of short stories framed within a narrative of an elderly gentleman’s journal. Bleak House is a sweeping critique of the English judicial system, following the lives of several characters caught up in a never-ending legal case.
A Child’s History of England presents a retelling of the nation’s history for young readers, while American Notes is Dickens’ personal account of his travels across America. Stories and Sketches rounds out the set with a variety of short stories and observations.
Condition Report
All five books are in good to very good condition overall. Master Humphrey’s Clock has firm binding and relatively clean boards with minor signs of wear. Bleak House has a slightly faded spine cloth and light marks on the boards. Stories and Sketches also has slight fading to the spine cloth with minor wear to the boards. A Child’s History of England has some slight wear to the gutter and minor marks on the boards. American Notes has slight wear to the gutter and a crease on the front board, with some page corners folded down. All books have clean pages, firm bindings, and light tanning to the end pages.
