Overall, both copies are in good condition. The bindings are firm and the pages are generally clean. A Day with Bach: There's some light marking and a few very small chips to the boards. There's some light spotting to the pages and small pencil marks to the fly-leaf. The spine mesh is partially visible from the title page. A Day with Gounod: There's some light marking to the boards, a few retail pencil marks on the ffep and light spotting to the pages.
